If you are in need of a NEW address in Rural Lucas County (not within the City Limits), please complete an application for a new address.
The application can be obtained in person at the Lucas County Sheriff's Office located at 48559 Hy-Vee Road., Chariton, IA 50049. Hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. - Noon and 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. You can also obtain the application from the link below and print it out. The completed application, along with payment of $50.00 (cash or check) - should be returned to the Lucas County Sheriff's Office during business hours or by mail to: 911 Coordinator PO Box 816 Chariton, IA 50049 Please make all checks payable to Lucas County 911. |
You MUST have a driveway in place to receive a 911 address from Lucas County. Your address will be GPS located by Sheriff Brett Tharp within 14 days of your application. The sign will be placed as soon as it is delivered from the supplier.
