The Lucas County Sheriff's Office requires a valid Iowa Driver's License or ID when applying for a permit to acquire or permit to carry.
Permits to Acquire are $30 and expire after 5 years. There is a 3 day waiting period from the date of application until the permit to acquire is valid. To obtain a Permit to Carry, applicants must also produce a training certificate or have the military form DD214. Permits to Carry are $50 and expire after 5 years.
